Terms of Service

1. Who these Terms apply to

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use to track your own finances. It is not directed at children.

2. The service

Money Manager helps you record transactions, accounts, categories, and related notes on your device. Features may include local backups and exports, optional Google Drive backup, optional reminders, passcode or biometric app lock, receipt photo attachments, update notices, occasional prompts to rate the App, analytics and crash reporting, and advertising.

We may change, add, or remove features, or update the App, at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available forever.

Minimum supported version. Some releases fix security or data-integrity problems that we cannot safely leave running. We may therefore set a minimum supported version of the App and ask you to update before continuing to use it. Updates are delivered only through Google Play or the App Store — the App never downloads or installs software on its own. Updating does not affect the records stored on your device.

3. No account; your data responsibilities

The App does not require a Money Manager account and does not sync your financial records to our servers. Data you enter is stored locally on your device.

• You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for keeping backups you may need.
• Backup files are created and saved where you choose. When you have set a passcode, the local backup is encrypted (.mmbak2) and we cannot decrypt it for you if you lose that passcode. Without a passcode, the local backup (.mmbak) is not encrypted — protect the file accordingly. We do not host your backups.
• Deleting all app data, resetting the App, or uninstalling permanently removes local data. That action cannot be undone by us.

4. Optional Google Drive backup

You may connect a Google account so the App can keep an encrypted backup in your own Google Drive. This is optional, and the App works fully without it. Signing in uses your existing Google account — we do not create an account for you.

• The App requests only the drive.appdata scope. It cannot list, read, or modify any other file in your Drive.
• The backup is stored in your Google Account, under Google's terms. We do not host it and cannot access it.
• Restoring requires the same Google account that created the backup. If you lose access to that account, we cannot recover the backup for you.
• You can disconnect at any time in the App. To delete the stored backup, follow Delete Your Data.

5. License to use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal use, in accordance with the App Store or Google Play terms that apply to your download.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the App except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to interfere with the App’s normal operation, security, or related services (including ads, analytics, or messaging).
• Misrepresent the App as a banking, payment, brokerage, or licensed financial advisory product.
• Abuse support channels or submit harmful, illegal, or deceptive content when contacting us.

7. Not financial, tax, or investment advice

Money Manager is a record-keeping tool. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, tax, accounting, legal, or investment advice. We do not verify transactions against your bank, process payments, or move money. Decisions you make based on information in the App are yours alone.

8. Advertising and third-party services

The App may display ads through Google AdMob and may use Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, remote configuration, and push messaging. Update and rating prompts use the mechanisms built into Google Play on Android and, on iOS, Apple’s public App Store lookup and StoreKit. Those services are governed by Google’s and Apple’s terms and policies in addition to these Terms.

We are not responsible for third-party ads, websites, or offers you may encounter through advertising. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising and diagnostics data are handled.

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by StepUp Technosys or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that calculations, displays, backups, or exports will meet your requirements or be free of defects.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StepUp Technosys and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim (if any), or (b) USD 10.

12. App stores

If you download the App from Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to the applicable store’s terms. Apple and Google are not responsible for providing support or maintenance for the App under these Terms, except as required by their store rules.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or stop providing the App or related services if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property) will survive termination.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted in the App or on our website. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

How we process information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
