Delete Your Data

Last updated: August 7, 2026

This page explains how to delete the data held by Pocket Money Manager (the “Money Manager” app), published by StepUp Technosys. It covers data stored on your device, the optional backup stored in your own Google Drive, and the diagnostic data our service providers hold.

1. Delete the data on your device

Your transactions, accounts, categories, notes, and receipt photos are stored only on your device. To erase all of them:

  1. Open the Money Manager app.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy policy.
  3. Tap Delete all my data.
  4. Confirm when the app asks. The app wipes the data and restarts itself.

This wipes the app database, the receipt photo store, secure storage (including your passcode), and all app preferences. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone by us — we never had a copy. Uninstalling the app also removes this data.

Backup files (.mmbak2), CSV exports, and receipt photos you copied to a folder of your own are not removed by this step, because they live outside the app. Delete those with your device's Files app if you no longer want them.

2. Delete your Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup is off by default. If you turned it on, an encrypted copy of your ledger is stored in the hidden application data folder of your own Google Account. We cannot see, read, or delete it — only you can.

To remove it:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com/connections (Google Account → Data & privacy → Third-party apps & services).
  2. Select Money Manager.
  3. Choose Delete all connections / remove access. Google deletes the app's hidden data folder, and the backup with it.

Disconnecting Google Drive from inside the app's Settings revokes our access but is not a substitute for the step above if you want the stored file removed.

3. Diagnostic and advertising data

The app sends anonymous diagnostics (crash reports, performance metrics, feature-usage events) and advertising identifiers to Google Firebase and Google AdMob. These records are not linked to your name or email, and they contain no transaction amounts or note text.

To limit or remove them:

4. What is deleted, and what is kept

Data On deletion Retention
Financial records, receipt photos, app settings, passcode Deleted from the device immediately None — never stored on our servers
Google Drive backup Deleted by Google when you remove the app's access Held in your Google Account until you remove it
Backup files and exports you saved yourself Kept — delete them with your device's Files app Stored wherever you chose to save them
Crash and performance logs Deletion request submitted to Firebase Up to 14 months under Firebase retention policies
Advertising identifiers Reset or deleted by you in Android settings Handled under Google AdMob policies

5. Request deletion by email

If you cannot use the in-app option — for example you no longer have the device — email stepuptechnosys@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my data”. Tell us which app you are writing about and, if your request concerns diagnostics, the approximate date you installed it. We respond within 30 days.

Because the app has no accounts and we hold no copy of your financial records, we cannot identify or delete an individual's ledger on request — that data only ever existed on your device.
